Learners progress through interactive lessons that guide the user through a unique path based on demonstrated mastery. Points are earned through lesson assessments and also completing tasks like logging in, watching videos and contributing to the forum. This gamifies learning and can be used to purchase free time, homework passes, and more.

The target audience for this LMS ranged from English-language learners to special-education and gifted students. To increase accessibility for all learners, support was simultaneously integrated and unobtrusive. In addition to vocabulary and navigation support, audio narration was also available for struggling readers.

  • Study Support

    A glossary plugin displayed a word wall in the footer of the site. Upon tapping a term, a list was generated that included every lesson related to that term to assist with content review.

  • Vocab Support

    The same plugin also provided on-demand vocabulary support in the lessons. When an unknown term was tapped, a pop up would display the definition to assist the learner.

  • Navigation Support

    Because the LMS was regularly improved to meet the evolving needs of learners, a plugin was occasionally required to guide users through changes and highlight updates.
